FAQ

Common questions about the Huntingdale Halloween trail, map, competitions and voting.

Event basics

When is Halloween night?

Saturday 31 October 2026. Individual houses set their own treat times on the map (for example 5:00pm–8:30pm). Always check the house profile on the map for exact hours.

Where does it run?

Local streets around Huntingdale and nearby suburbs (WA). Approved houses appear on the interactive map. There is no single “start gate” — families follow the map and community recommendations.

Is it free?

Yes. Registering a house, walking the trail, entering competitions and voting are free community activities run by volunteers.

Who organises this?

Local community organisers. This website helps with the public map, registrations and competitions. It is not a commercial ticketed event.

Registering your house

How do I put my house on the map?

Go to Register your house, complete the form, and wait for organiser approval. Approved houses appear on the public map with times and notes.

How long does approval take?

Organisers review submissions as volunteers. You’ll see your house as Live on map via My status once it’s published. You can also send a status enquiry from that page.

Can I change my times later?

Contact organisers via a status enquiry on My status with your address and the new times so they can update the listing.

What if I know a great house that hasn’t registered?

Use Nominate a neighbour. Organisers can invite them to register themselves.

Competitions & voting

What categories are there?

Spookiest House, Best Treat, Best Dressed Family, Best Dressed Pet, plus an overall People’s Choice vote across nominees.

Do I need a photo?

Best Treat — photo optional.
Spookiest House, Best Dressed Family, Best Dressed Pet — photo required before the entry can be shown for voting.
Upload at Photo upload using the same email and category as your entry.

When can I vote?

Voting opens 12:00pm Saturday 31 October 2026 and closes 10:00pm the same day (Perth time). Nominee previews can appear earlier once approved. Winners are announced Sunday 1 November at 12:00pm.

How many times can I vote?

One vote per category per device/browser (including People’s Choice as its own category).

Where do I enter?

Enter or nominate — one page for competition entry and neighbour nominations.

Safety & practical

Is there a full safety guide?

Yes — see the dedicated Safety page for road sense, supervision, treats and house etiquette.

What if it rains?

The event is informal and house-based. Some homes may shorten hours in bad weather. Check the map on the night and prioritise well-lit streets.

Accessibility

House profiles can note pram/wheelchair access and toddler-friendly stops. Always use your own judgement on slopes, driveways and lighting.
